This little light is just great! (2008-12-02)

We ordered this nightlight because we often lose power in the winter in the middle of the night. We hoped that this would give us enough light to fire up our flashlights and the woodstove. But we found that it is more than a nightlight that turns on when the power goes off. My husband is often up very early to go to work and the extra light from the LED that is motion sensitive gives him enough light to gather his clothes on his way to the shower without waking me up. When we pull it out of the socket, the nonelectric flashlight gives off plenty of light to navigate in the darkness. We have purchased more of these lights as stocking stuffers for our living room, our kids and our camper.

Interestingly, we needed to mount the nightlight in the bottom socket of the outlet on the wall at the end of our bed because our rolling over while sleeping triggered the motion sensor!

Great concept, BUT... (2008-11-23)

This is a great design; soft light automatically on during dark hours with LED bulb that doesn't constantly burn out AND/OR 3 bright LED lights that come on when unit senses motion & during power failure and that can also be used as a flashlight. However, like one of the other reviewers reported, the 3 bright lights soon start to flicker which greatly reduces their brightness and could induce a migraine. At least the nightlite still works.

Works like a lil' champ! (2008-11-06)

Can't go wrong with these lights. I bought six of them; currently using 4 of the 6. The motion sensor works great (turns on when you are less than 10 ft. away). Emits plenty of light. Highly recommend them and for the price ($15 each), nothing can compare.

Excellent product. Have owned it for about a month and my guests have all commented on how well it worked as a motion detector light. Have not yet tried it when the power is out.

I picked one of these up after nearly breaking my legs during a fall on a stairway because of the dark. The hostel I was staying in normally has lights but the rowdy guests broke every bulb in the place. I left this out & it worked for a while until some drunk Germans tore it out. Best thing to do is to carry a mini flashlight in instances like that.
