Scott, Dave, Rich, and Smitty--the Imagination Movers--make music that's as much for parents as kids. While their lyrics are aimed at the short set, their bouncy tunes evoke pop and funk acts like Smash Mouth, Devo, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers (without any profanity or sexual innuendo). The first DVD from the New Orleans-based quartet, Stir It Up, features a heaping helping of material from both their CDs, Good Ideas and Calling All Movers. Lively videos alternate with energetic live performances, many of which feature audience participation. Some songs, like "I Want My Mommy (Time for Bed)," combine both approaches. Fans of the Wiggles and Bob the Builder are sure to find themselves tapping their toes with abandon, while learning some useful lessons along the way, like the importance of remembering your manners ("Please and Thank You") and tidying up ("Clean My Room"). I recently purchased this DVD for my granddaughters. It is absolutely fantastic, not only are the songs exciting for little ones but the music is wonderful for grown-ups also. My granddaughters are 2 years old and love this DVD - we watch it at least 5 times a day. I also purchased all the Imagination Movers CD's - they're great. This was definitely money well spent.

My kids received a free Imagination Movers DVD at a local kids gym - a promotional thing - and they loved it. We don't get the Disney channel at home, so I bought this DVD hoping it would be like our sample TV episode, but it is much more like a long music video. It's okay, just not what I expected. Almost entirely singing/dancing.

The Stir it Up DVD was a large disappointment, I've raised 3 children and now have grandchildren and this was not a dvd that I would recommend to anyone.

I have had this DVD for over a year. My kids (2 1/2 year old twins and 1 year old) still go nuts when they watch this. They will dance the entire time and attempt to sing. The songs are so full of energy and they are something the whole family can listen to. I just wish it was longer!
