Editorial Reviews
After 11 years in development hell and screenplay drafts by 13 different writers, the long-awaited smackdown of Freddy vs. Jason finally arrives. After making their respective debuts in Friday the 13th (1980) and A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984), the hockey-masked killer Jason Voorhees (Ken Kirzinger, replacing long-time Jason performer Kane Hodder) and razor-gloved Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) square off in a slasher-franchise combo-deal that only their most devoted fans will appreciate; turns out this is a lightweight match in which nobody wins. It's an average entry in the histories of these horror icons, comparable to half of their previous sequels, and Bride of Chucky director Ronny Yu satisfies purists with plenty of gushing blood and mayhem when Freddy recruits Jason to slice 'n' dice the ill-fated teens who've forgotten Freddy's once-formidable reign of terror. While it logically connects the gruesome legacies of Nightmare's Elm Street and Friday's Camp Crystal Lake, this horror hybrid is shockingly uninspired. It briefly peaks when Freddy gives the unconscious Jason a dream-world pummeling, but their ultimate showdown's a draw. In the immortal words of Peggy Lee, is that all there is? --Jeff Shannon

I never liked the whole Nightmare on Elm street Franchise of the Friday the 13th series.
But this movie isn't a traditional slasher flick. It's more of an action flick. You get to see two villains who just never die... fight to the death... or not.. Reguardless you get to see alot of fighting in the real world and the dream world.
Anyways it was great to see how the creators came up with a creative story line to mesh the 2 existing storys together. It was great to see these 2 guys bring their "special abilities" to the table. Also there is a bit of unforeseen humor splashed in.
Over all the writers did a great job and the actors did awesome as well.

If you love A Nightmare on Elm Street or Friday the 13th, or both, you'll definitely love Freddy Vs. Jason! I love the awesome fighting sequences between them. I love all the blood and gore when they slash at each other! I remember seeing this with a friend when it first came out. There were some parts we laughed at, some we thought were cool. If you love slashers fighting, you'll love FREDDY VS. JASON!!!

this movie was great not scary but great. Ive seen all the nightmare on elm street movies and all the friday the 13 movies and the jason movies sucked but the nightmare on elm street movies were great then i saw this movie when it first came out and it was great and funny an intertaining movie. My mom said it was corney and it was'nt that bad this movie was'nt corney well it was a little but it was still great. The part that was funny was when freedy turned into that slug and then smoked pot and blew in that other guys face that was funny this was a great movie i hope part2 comes out cause the way freedy blinked his eye at the end meant that it was'nt over i hope it comes out with another great battle but great movie.
