I can only watch matt tailwhip or 900 off a vert ramp so many times before I want to KILL myself, what I am saying is that this crap gets old, the only good trick was chad cagy's tailwhip backflip, but this does not make the DVD ok all the same. Get Mutiny - Subversion, or any of the animal Bmx videos for some nail bitting street riding action. DAMNIT MATT WE ARE SICK OF VERT, GIVE US STREET INSTEAD.
Disappointment. (2003-10-16)

I've been a Hoffman since the very earliest 90s when I saw a programme called High5 which profiled him. He was doing mad jumps, king of dirt comps, others were doing flat-land etc way before ESPN etc got involved. Those were the days before major corporate interest. It was just cool.I was looking forward to watching the DVD and seeing more of the same. Perhaps because there are so many xtreme shows on TV now with the X-games etc that this looked very familiar and nothing fresh. I am not a huge half pipe fan and prefer street - of which there was little. Of the street they did have I hated the death metal "music" - it's so boring, intrusive and predictable to have this sort of junk on the soundtrack, at least surf vids have some decent tunes. I also didn't liked the dodgy images of Christ during that sequence - completely unnecessary and distasteful. And it was filmed at night mainly so it was hard to see what was going on. I would have liked a lot more street stylin. Some of the stuff went on way too long as well - such as Mat's loop and the 50ft jumps - yeah it's cool, but for 15-20 minutes of the same stuff? Nah. As I say, if you like half pipes this is good stuff, if you like street this isn't so good. And the soundtrack plain sucks. I doubt whether I'd watch the DVD again.
