This is a beautiful dress. Runs a little large, so choose size carefully. But i love the dress. easy to wear. very comfortable.

I made the mistake of following another reviewer's suggestion of ordering up a size. I'm tall and slim (not petite), but have broad shoulders and usually wear large T-shirts. I ordered this dress in a large and it was loose and pretty darn ugly on me. The waistline was high, so it probably would not have looked good on me even if it had fit better. The draping of the skirt was way too full, and flouncy. It looked very hippy to me and doesn't look at all like the picture. I wonder if it's even the same dress in the photo. Does that look like a V-neck to you?

Mandi's review below is dead-on. I need to find a good basic black dress which can run through seasons, be dressed up or down, and this one *should* have worked beautifully. Unfortunately, the funky popup neckline means this dress stays in my closet a LOT more than it would if it were successfully cut. I have tried to figure out a way to alter the shoulders, but it would be an extremely difficult and all-too-visible job. The jersey itself is somewhat cheap (typical for Newport News) and is not a good, deep black, but that would have been forgiveable if the cut weren't so difficult to work around.

This dress is very soft and comfortable. However, the sizes run very small
so order a size up from what you normally would. If you don't you will get a very snug fit. The neckline is more wide than what is pictured but put a eye catching necklace and it"s great. Good value for your money.

This is the perfect black dress for all occasions. Dress it up for a formal wedding or dress it down for a casual every day dress. Washes nicely. The material is soft and wrinkle free. This is a dress that most women should have in their closet. One never knows when it might come in handy.
